laugh.lines

I was looking at a picture on msnbc.com when I noticed Obama's laugh lines, namely, the wrinkles around his eyes that become more apparent when you smile. I love these lines. Society today is all about hiding wrinkles, but these are wrinkles that I hope to have and will wear proudly. To me, it means that you laugh a lot. That you smile a lot. They remind me of my grandmother's wrinkles, and every time I think of her face, she is smiling. Not a demure, shy smile, but smiling with all her teeth out, the wrinkles around her eyes deep set, looking almost like she has held her face that way for years. Even when she was sick, even when things were not going well, she always had a huge smile for me.

I like the way Obama looks when he smiles/laughs. He looks trustworthy. He looks trusting. Someone who can release so much positive emotion can't possibly be faking it all the time.
